Sustainability Commitment

Making a difference

Goodwood’s pledge to the environment

As a company, we have full control over the entire process of (re)design, production, distribution, refurbishing, and recycling. We recognize that we have a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to sustainability in our industry. At the core of our approach is our belief that choosing high-quality, durable materials is crucial for sustainability. We place a particular emphasis on refurbishing wooden products.

We are committed to developing a new sustainability vision for the next 25 years, one that emphasizes circularity and prolonging product lifespans. Although we know that this will be a long, challenging, and imperfect journey, we believe that every step, no matter how small, counts towards making a positive impact.

Actions for sustainability

We have been SVLK certified. All of our wood is from responsibly managed forests that comply with the EU and US Timber Regulations and the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan.

CERTIFICATION

NATURAL TREATMENT

Each of our products undergoes meticulous handcrafting and finishing. We consistently opt for natural, water-based, and non-toxic treatments to ensure environmentally friendly and safe finishes.

LONGER LIFETIME

In our furniture design process, durability is a top priority. We strive to create not only visually appealing pieces but also robust and enduring furniture that withstands the test of time.

MINIMUM WASTE

We've repurposed wood production remnants into veneer and smaller items, using the leftover waste as sustainable fuel for our drying oven, actively pursuing zero-waste production.

We are proudly in a partnership with Tree4Trees, a non-profit foundation dedicated to environmental renewal and community empowerment through reforestation and education. At Goodwood, our mission is to operate a sustainable business that values giving back to nature. Through this collaboration, for every container ordered, we contribute to planting 10 trees. Our core values at Goodwood drive us to improve in every aspect of our business, whether that be in design innovation, customer relations, or finding new ways of becoming more sustainable.
